ARP-9942 is human monocytic leukemia cell line previously referred to as THP-1 cells (ATCC ® TIB-202™). ARP-9942 is used as the parental line in deriving THP-1 DC-SIGN cells (ARP-9943). THP-1 cells express low levels of endogenous DC-SIGN. This line also expresses CD4 and can be infected by X4-tropic human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
Growth Characteristics: ARP-9942 is a slow-growing suspension cell line. Its viability recovers rapidly post-thawing.
Growth Medium: RPMI 1640 supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum, 1 mM sodium pyruvate, 0.05 mM ß-mercaptoethanol
ARP-9942 is negative for bacteria, Mycoplasma and fungi.
Each vial of ARP-9942 contains
approximately 5.4 × 106 cells in RPMI 1640 supplemented with 20% fetal bovine serum and 10% dimethyl sulfoxide
